Ané (pronounced Ah-nay) means beautiful lady with a song, and this beautiful lady lives up to her name. This international recording artist is an excellent song stylist, songwriter, and extraordinary performer. She’s elegant, sexy, classy, and sassy, and ooh can she sing! Originally from New Jersey, and currently residing in Las Vegas, Ané sings music that touches the heart and soul. Her powerful and eloquent solo performances have spanned the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia.
From April 1990 to April 2016 (26 years), Ané performed all over the world as one of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame legends, The Fabulous Shirelles with original member Beverly Lee. The Shirelles were the 1st female group in the history of music to sell one million records and they paved the way for many of the girl groups that followed. Although Ané was not with The Shirelles from the beginning, she is VERY PROUD that she helped keep this incredible music alive for many years. Ané says, “I was honored to be one of The Shirelles and thankful for all the experiences that came with being a member of an iconic girl group, as well as all the lessons learned”.
“This Is A Man's World.....Buttt” created, produced, arranged, and starred Ané. The songs, the costumes, the orchestra, the singers, and the dancers will have you literally jumping out of your seat as you take this exciting stroll down memory lane. You will absolutely love this show which includes the music of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Little Anthony & The Imperials, Chubby Checker, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Lesley Gore, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Peggi Lee, and of course, The Shirelles. The song list continues with many of the icons she's personally shared the stage with.
On her most recent recording, Ané has returned to her roots with her CD entitled “Where I'm Coming From”. In this project, Ané sings the songs that she loves from the 1960s to the 1990s, including songs by The
Empress, Gladys Knight, the late and great Phyllis Hyman and Linda Jones (Linda is also from the south ward of Newark) Barbara Lewis, Little Anthony & The Imperials (Ané performed on shows with both) and there are many more songs on this project that are straight from the heart and very dear to this amazing vocalist.
